Teacher Tested Educational Publications writes, publishes and sells novel
studies. Before we started publishing them in 1998, we used the novel studies in our classrooms. Since then, here are a few important things we've
observed while using literature in the classroom:
- The average student enrollment in an inclusive classroom often
encompasses a wide variety of reading levels. Therefore, one novel
seldom suits an entire class.
- If teachers want student's reading ability to improve, then student's
need to read literature that is appropriate, challenging and accessible.
- Teaching through literature is most effective when students are
offered a choice of literature to read.
- When students are given a choice of what they read and their reading
is monitored through meaningful skill building assignments, students
are more likely to complete the assigned reading independently.
- When students are engaged through the literature they have chosen
and expereience success with accompanying assignments,
less behavioral problems occur.
Teacher-Tested offers our novel studies individually.
